Catching up, again...

In honor of Thanksgiving we decided to trek it up to Plymouth. It was....err...educational.

Here I am posing next to the Mayflower II, apparently a replica of the original. I'm not posing ON the Mayflower II because those scammers were charging $10 a person...and Norm and I are famous for driving long distances to see stuff only to end up doing nothing because everything costs money.
We saw Plymouth Rock, which as it turns out, is pretty much just a rock, and a modestly-sized one at that. For some reason I was under the impression that Plymouth Rock was some giganto rocky ledge, or more of a reference to a rocky area where the Pilgrims landed. Where was I in US History class?

This is Norm looking seductive in our ultra-hip hotel room. He talked me into dressing up for dinner -- we only had to go downstairs (on an elevator) to the restaurant but I realized quite quickly that high heels at this late stage in fetal development were a very questionable choice.

The highlight of the trip was probably visiting the Newport Mansions in Rhode Island. If you aren't familiar with Newport, basically, in what is referred to as "the gilded age" (late 1800s) the richest people in America built obscenely ridiculous mansions in this oceanside town. Checking these babies out was actually one activity that Norm and I agreed was worth the money. Had I been allowed to take pictures of the inside, you would see what I mean. Seriously, seriously ridiculous.
Unfortunately it was really rainy all day long...but we still had a great time. We put on our little audio-tour sets and took our time walking through 3 elaborate mansions, enthralled all afternoon. Who knew learning was so much fun...or could made you feel really, really poor:)

looks like fun, and I too thought that plymoth rock was bigger than a pebble! I was laughing pretty hard when I saw the size of that rock!

Rach... Hooray! I finally got to see a pic of your cute belly. It was sort of small, but I get the idea. So fun! I was thinking about you today while I was at work. I got close to delivering 2 babes on my shift. Honestly, I am so excited to be in labor, but there are a few steps I need to take first...
