Careful, He Bites!

Woops forgot to include the ensemble picture -- you can sort of see my makeshift air tank on my back! Turns out Norm's flippers weren't so durable, but you get the point!

You are being a Halloweenie

(preface to post: I don't know how bloggers have the patience...it took like a year to upload this photos. Hence, the biannual, mediocre post.)

So this is how our halloween festivities started...we'll pretend he's just getting into character by thrashing around like a shark.

The ONLY picture I have featuring the tell-tale fin of the shark...

SOOOO excited to go trick or treating...

But once we got outside I think he finally realized this was supposed to be fun. (I don't know why he wouldn't have been tipped off by the epic struggle which was getting the costume on:) He started to think he was pretty cool, because when we'd try to move those teeth out of his eyes, he'd move 'em right back.

He was apprehensive at first, but started to get the hang of it!

And dad was there in case we needed to play some tricks...

I made a great trick or treat bag out of DUCT TAPE! (Patting myself on the back!)

Checking out the loot...

And some other fall happenings:
Rolling pumpkins down the hall...

Memorizing the layout of every park within a 10 mile radius...

Proving he is in fact my child...(check out the hands!)

Hiding in favorite places...

And being coerced into leaving the house by Mr. Outdoors...

Obsessions

We have watched Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory about a zillion times in the last 3 days.
And Cohen is not at all a TV watching kid. But he is GLUED, just like this, for at least 45 minutes a day. I say Halleluliah! Some mothers restrict tv watching -- I encourage it :)

Cohen is a very stubborn little anorexic at times. No time to eat when there is playing to be done or messes to be made. Norm kept telling me, "try putting ketchup on it", but I never did because I can pretty much gag on cue at the thought of ketchup. But it is truely a magic sauce.
I could put ketchup on a shoelace and he would eat it. Once he finished up his hot dog today, he started using STRAWBERRIES as a ketchup delivery system.

America the Beautiful

So we were lucky enough to see the big show over the Hudson again this year. I really looked forward to it and it didn't disappoint! The best part was that we walked about a block to our "seats" and didn't have to fight traffic or find parking. Love it.

I bet these boats had a good show!
I wonder how they did this?

These were the Macy's barges that they launched the fireworks from -- 6 of them!

A lovely show before the show.

An impressive panorama by Norm. (He is sitting next to me, making sure that I cite his work:)

Kaboom! Awesome!

Do you think that he liked it?

Only one year ago! Where did this itty bitty baby go?

Won't Eat Green

It's been over a month since I posted, and the biggest development is that I finally discovered where all of the socks were disapearing to...

Scored some new boots in Atlantic City (unfortunately not for me). They probably won't officially fit until next winter but are still apparently very fun to clomp around in.

Love this little sleeping face...

My little dare devil...

Around easter, we began to hear a "clickidy clack" instead of the usual "pitter patter" of little feet, and discovered this hilarious oddity... it's a jelly bean if you can't tell...

As hard as I try, Cohen WILL not eat anything green, with the exception of kiwi, but only if he's really in the mood. I think he eats orange foods the best. See what I mean...

Road Trippin and Snow Storms

We had a couple of doozies in February that pretty much snowed us in...but we did make it outside to tug around this little "load". Who needs a sled when you are masters of improv. Cohen is seen here in our laundry basket, pulled by an old xbox controller.

Norm's parents came into town a few weeks ago and we headed up to Palmyra for round two. Here we are at Hill Cumorah, and as you can see Cohen was going wherever he wanted to, as usual.

It was a long drive in a tight car, but we were glad Kent and Myra got to see the Smith Farm and Niagara Falls. The falls were really beautiful and covered in ice.

Inventors

I have a good number of brilliant entrepreneurial friends. I don't know how they do it. For example, my dear old friend Sarah Craig has just introduced this awesome Zoobi stroller caddy to the world, and I didn't even know she was working on anything! It's got everything you could ever think of needing in a stroller/diaper bag.
Apparently, it does all of these things:
First of all, it's a STROLLER ORGANIZER: 2 large zippered pockets hold all the valuables, you've got a cell phone pocket, a zippered pocket for keys/chapstick, credit card... AND it holds two drinks! (waterbottles, baby bottles, sippy cups, you name it!)
It has two buckles up top on either side that allows it to attach to any stroller - ones with two handles, ones with one big bar, etc...
Secondly, it's a CARRY TOTE: So you're at the park, Sea World, mall... and you want to leave the stroller, but not all the goods - Pop out the drinks, fold the bag in half (it velcros!) and VOILA! it's a tote with a shoulder strap.

Think this lil' gem can't get any better? Here's one final perk... Undo the zipper that goes all the way around and it unfolds into a full-sized, waterproof CHANGING PAD!!! WAHOO! Doesn't matter if all your stuff is still in the pockets, it makes for a little pillow at one end.

A-mazing that she thought of everything. And everyone should buy one from my good friend Sarah. They are on Amazon for 29.99, and you can even have it shipped for free by using the coupon code ZBSPRING
Go SARAH! You busy little business genius you!
