Our little buckarooo

Hi, so this is my official announcement to long-lost friends that I am in fact "with child". I'm just over half-way done with this pregnancy deal in fact, and we found out yesterday that it's a little GUY. Thankfully the gender was hinted to me in an earlier ultrasound, because had I not been mentally prepared to hear the words "it's a boy", I might have had a different reaction. But the last few weeks thinking about having a little buckarooo has really excited me. As I look back on thinking about one day having a child, I realize now that it had never occurred to me that the child might be male. I think this was programmed in me sometime early on, because it's always been girls, girls, and more girls in my family (except for a slight glitch in the system when dear little Seth came along). But I've gotta tell ya -- I am really excited! I've started thinking about how fun little t-ball games and tiny little uniforms will be, not to mention that he will probably LOVE making GAK with me!
I do have one serious worry though, and this was actually prompted by something that Norm's mom said in his birthday card recently. It said something like, "it seems like just yesterday you were carrying around snakes in ice-cream buckets".... WHAT?!?! Not that I want to pass my irrational fears onto my kid, but I really hope he doesn't like snakes!

Anywho...due January 24th!

A boy!!! How exciting Rach! You are going to LOVE having a boy. You might feel a tinge of jealously as you watch other moms shop in the baby girl section of a store (because their clothes and accessories really are so cute), but trust me boys are so much fun. Boys come with fun gadgets and toys and cute clothes of their own. Oh Rach, you really are going to love having a boy. Congrats! I am Soooo excited for you!
