So both Norm and Meg's recent posts (basically about trying to glorify your life/self/family on your blog) inspired me to write today because something is bothering me. I tend to only post when something eventful, exciting, or flattering happens. So today I'm going to divulge an uncensored opinion, one that may make you think I am a bad person.
Every single day in my commute from work, I come upon the same "homeless" couple. And every single day they are doing the same thing. They are stooped in the same position, reading a paper or doing a crossword, smoking a cigarette, drinking coffee or nibbling on some candied nuts from the street vendor. Their sign always says the same thing: "homeless and hungry, please help". Every day, as I walk home from a job that I hate, I want to kick over their stupid sign. I know you aren't hungry, there are 2 donuts sitting next to you. I know you have money, because cigarettes are $6.05 a pack plus a hefty tax (according to the sign at the tienda below my apartment). And I know that you aren't trying to help yourself, because you are always here. Why should this bother me so much? Because I just spent 8.5 + 2 hours commuting time out of my day, earning my own keep while you just sat there.
And there you have it -- pretty unflattering right?

A-FREAKING-MEN!! At the Chipotle that I frequent about 4 times per week, there is this homeless man sitting there every day, constantly yelling, "Can someone please help me get something to EAT!?!?!" My kind-hearted friend Chad, during his trip, decided to buy some Chips and salsa for this poor guy who was so sadly begging for some food. Chad brought the chips out and was like, "Here you go. Here's some chips and salsa" to which the homeless guy replied, "I DON'T WANTCH YO CHIPS!!!" ungrateful. homeless people bug!!
too funny.
my favorite is where you referenced the "tienda" under your apt. hA!
i hear you, sister.
i love that picture you found.
but most of all, i love it when you blog. So, whether it is venting or whatever, keep at it. LOVE it.
they're almost as bad as the girl who has the sign that says "2 months pregnant and need $18 because all my blankets were stolen," the least she could do was update her sign every now and then because she's been 2 months pregnant for over 6 months and its more than 90 degrees outside.
